Vaxchora: Quick exit, quick protection
- VAXCHORA is a single-dose oral cholera vaccine that can be self-prepared by patients. Vaxchora is indicated for active immunization against cholera comma disease serogroup 01 in adults and children 2 years of age and older. This vaccine should be used in accordance with the latest approved Summary of Product Characteristics.
Instructions for preparing and receiving VAXCHORA vaccine:

1. prepare sachet 1
Pour 100 ml of bottled water (not from the tap), non-carbonated or carbonated, cold or at room temperature, into a clean cup. Pour the contents of sachet 1 into water in a cup and stir until the powder is completely dissolved. If you come into contact with the contents of the sachet, wash your hands.

2. for children aged 2 to 6 years only
Pour and remove half of the buffer solution. In. the cup, 50ml will then remain. Note; for children over 6 years old, use 100 ml.

3. prepare sachet 2
Empty the contents of sachet 2 into the same solution and stir for at least 30 seconds. A slightly cloudy color with a small amount of white particles is normal. If you come into contact with the contents of the sachet, wash your hands. If necessary, after mixing the contents of sachet 2 for at least 30 seconds, you can add stevia-based sweetener (not more than 1 gram or 1/4 teaspoon) or sugar (not more than 4 grams or a teaspoon) and then stir the suspension. DO NOT add other sweeteners, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.

4. drink the mixture
Drink the entire contents of the cup within 15 minutes of mixing
Vaxchora® - Highlights
- VAXCHORA vaccine must be stored in the refrigerator until it is prepared
- Patients should not eat or drink 1 hour before and after taking VAXCHORA vaccine
- VAXCHORA vaccine contains 2 sachets, which must be added in the correct order during vaccine preparation.
- VAXCHORA vaccine must be prepared using bottled (not tap), still or carbonated water that is cold or at room temperature.VAXCHORA vaccine contains 2 sachets that must be added in the correct order when preparing the vaccine.
- When using VAXCHORA vaccine in children aged 2 to 6 years, first make a full buffer solution (100 ml) and then discard half of it (50 ml) BEFORE adding the contents of sachet 2 with the active ingredient.
- A sweetener can be added to improve the taste: either 1g of stevia or 4g of sucrose alone. Do not add more than the indicated amount, as this could potentially affect the effectiveness of the vaccine.
- In addition, it is important that the child (aged 2 to 6 years) swallow/o the entire volume of 50 ml of vaccine
- VAXCHORA vaccine should be consumed within 15 minutes of completion of preparation.
- The representative of the professional medical personnel to whom you or your caregiver has referred you for the vaccine should remind you that if you have any further doubts or errors regarding the use of this drug, you should ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
